What does diversity, equity and inclusion look like in the workplace
It’s important to understand what a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace looks like and what it means to foster this environment for your company. Just understanding the definition of DEI is not enough to instil a culture that represents a range of needs and identities.
Research shows us that “organizations that confidently measure DEI, create accountability, and embed inclusion into talent decisions and processes, report up to 20% more organizational inclusion compared to their peers without this approach.” – Harvard Business Review.
This allows organisations to understand the areas they need to work on and evaluate the help they need to improve.
What happens when DEI is a strategic focus?
When the right focus is put on DEI and an investment is made with the right research behind it, both the individuals and the company reap the benefits of an accepting work culture, built to include and harness differences. When looking at gender diversity, “companies with the most gender diverse executive teams are 67% more likely to experience superior value creation than companies with the least diverse executive teams”- Mckinsey
So, how does NKD come in?
Creating the environment for diversity to flourish, for equity to be within reach and for inclusion to be commonplace requires a well-developed programme built on quality and meaningful experiences.
